Welcome to 2022-2023 School Year Mini Camp!

Semester 1 enrollment is now open! Click here to register!

Semester 1 runs from September 6, 2022 - January 20, 2023.

School Year Mini Camp is a Montessori and Waldorf inspired program for ages 3*-5 where the focus is on learning through PLAY! *must be fully potty trained

Bloom is based on taking inspiration from both Montessori and Waldorf philosophies of education and child development in our environment and activities, and one of the key components of both is the importance of play at that age!  Our 3-5 program offers a sensory, tactile and play based approach to learning, incorporating Montessori educational tools along the way. Most importantly, the Mini Camp program is an opportunity for your child to gain socialization, a sense of independence, and have fun with friends!

How does the Montessori approach inspire this program's curriculum?

The Montessori concept of the "Absorbent Mind" is the developmental period from birth to age 6 where the child's mind is like a sponge, taking snapshots of everything around them that forms the basis of the way they begin to understand and interact with the world around them.

The 3-6 Mini Camp program supports the ongoing Absorbent Mind period where we continue encouraging the accomplishments from the first 3 years of life where the child has spent time absorbing life skills such as routines, caring for self and for the environment, practical life, and gross and fine motor skills, by utilizing Montessori and traditional sensory and tactile materials in daily activities.  As the 3-6 year old has entered what Montessori described as the "conscious stage", where the child is more conscious and intentional about their interests and experiences and memories start to become formed, we support this developmental milestone by introducing more advanced concepts of language, math and science that begins to incorporate more complex concepts such as order, sequencing, association, and memorization. The 3-6 program utilizes a Montessori unit study curriculum with a monthly theme and rotating independent work activities and materials that complement the topics and seasons. We also utilize a "Letter of the Week" curriculum where the child will study literacy and math concepts through the use of the alphabet as a prompt, as well as work on proper pencil grip, sight words, and other language, math and science concepts.

Following the Montessori philosophy, each child is treated as an individual, who is at their own specific developmental readiness, and while the materials for the group are the same for everyone, we work 1:1 with each child to meet them where they are, customizing the materials to best engage and support them as an individual, while working to support the families' goals for their child for the semester.

Although our program offers a wealth of educational opportunities and guides your child towards a successful transition into a formal preschool or kindergarten program, prospective camp families should be reminded that we are not an accredited preschool or daycare, and are not seeking to be such. We are happily offering an alternative to traditional daycare and preschool environments where your child's unique self can be nurtured and grow while "being a kid". Learning through play allows us to foster a natural love for learning through the child's curiosity, creativity, independence, and building trusting and loving human relationships.

Semester 1 runs from September 6, 2022 to January 20, 2023.

Semester 2 runs from January 23, 2022 to June 2, 2023.

Each Semester runs for 19 weeks. There will be scheduled breaks during the Semester (exact calendar to be provided).

While our Montessori approach offers us the opportunity to meet your child where they are developmentally and provide a personalized approach to their experience, given our limited resources as a private non-accredited program, please understand we are not equipped to support children who may not yet be ready for this program. Some of the key milestones we would need for your child to have met in order to have their best experience in our program are: ability to follow the routine of the day with focus; ability to understand keeping hands to oneself/gentle interaction with peers; ability to work with materials as they are meant to be used; basic understanding of shapes and colors; readiness to learn; ability to be separated from caregivers (while understanding all children have days where they struggle and need extra comforting)

Before care from 8am and after care until 6pm is available.

As we follow a progressive curriculum and robust unit study, please note your child's progress and benefit will be greater the more days they attend camp. We recommend at least the 3 days a week program but realize not everyone's ready or able to commit, so the 2 days a week option is also available. 5 days a week is ideal for maximum benefit from the program.

* 2 DAYS A WEEK (T, Th)

* 3 DAYS A WEEK (M, W, F)

2 Days a Week Program = $1045/semester ($55/week)
3 Days a Week Program = $1520/semester ($80/week)
5 Days a Week Program = $2375/semester ($125/week)

Before/After Care = $5/hr (siblings $2.50/hr)

A non-refundable deposit of $50 will be charged upon checkout, with it being applied to your balance, to be charged in full upon review and confirmation of your selections.

The only exception is a pre-arranged extended absence with at least a 1 week notice.

Tuition paid: Any cancellations that are made within 1 week of camp or any no-shows are non-refundable except for extenuating circumstances (i.e. unforeseen illness).

School Year Camp requires commitment to the selected schedule for planning purposes. If you wish to switch to a different schedule or need to unenroll for any reason, please provide at least a 2 week notice.

Missed days are not prorated. However, if you have a planned extended vacation, we will be able to credit your account with minimum of 1 week advance notice.
